KierBam Update 22/06/2020

Redundancy

Kier BAM (including the Tier 2 agencies and Plant Companies) have now started the redundancy consultations following a downturn in work from EDF/NNB.

All agency staff will be leaving Kier BAM, some plant operatives and approximately 90 Kier and BAM personnel.

You should have been contacted by your company regarding the process with consultations beginning this week for approximately 2-3 weeks.

Jonathan Davies and Gary Stiff will be available to represent members on their telephone consultations who are both qualified Shop Stewards.

Companies will be looking to place you on other projects (if suitable) or they will be making you redundant in line with the HPC redundancy scheme.

We would like to thank you all for your hard work and effort and for being a Unite member. We wish you good luck for your future and hope that you remain a Unite member going forward.

Milestone Bonus

After Unite made representation regarding the milestone bonus for those who have remained on-site during the Covid-19 pandemic and for those who have recently returned, NNB have agreed that milestone payments will be made for those employees working through the lockdown period (April, May and June only). This % payment will be an average of the first 3 months of 2020 which equates to 7.5% and will be backdated and paid in the next few weeks. This is a great win for Unite the Union.

From July there will be a set of milestones agreed based on the programme of works for the month (as per the previous agreement).
